There are pivotal moments in a child’s life which can draw a tear from our eyes. The happy ones like his or her’s first steps. The 1st birthday. Eating dinner without having half of it end up on the floor, getting rid of your zwangerschapslingerie and other moments like it. There are some sadder moments which mark the end of an age. Getting rid of the pacifier is one, stopping with breastfeeding and losing the pillow is another one.
If your youngster is an only child you may not have to do that extremely quickly. Chances are they are they will happily sleep with their head on the mattress until the age of 4. But at some point you will have to make that transition. If you do not they may begin to experience major neck aches and might have some prolonged discomfort to show for it. Just think what sleeping without a pillow would do for you. I’m sure that when I sleep without one it bugs me all day. Head aches, neck pains and the feeling I have barely slept all evening.
For children it is not quite as bad because they are smaller. They will grow into it as their spines begin to grow. The reason behind the discomfort is the misalignment of the major pricks. If these are not in the right position the body will try and reposition itself but this is not practical. What will occur then is that the muscles will fall into a position that is really stressful on the muscles and in turn creates the pain.
To let your kid grow accustomed with the concept of a pillow you might begin with just the sheeting. Buy one with a pleasant print on it and have them sleep with that. Inside days they will grow used to it and when you finally do put that pillow in they're going to sleep on it without a difficulty!
Good luck.
Salmsed Turns is a dutch writer with a particular loveof baby related subjects. This is thanks to the incontrovertible fact that he has just become father of a nice little girl. Sick and tired of all of the kraamcadeaus he found an outlet for that in his writing. Other subjects he likes are (in Dutch) : Zwangerschapslingerie en Luiertassen.
