The outdoor playhouse that your child enjoys needs to be comfortable, regardless of the season. When it’s hot outside, you want your child to be not be overheated and when it’s really cold, you want the playhouse to be inviting, cozy and warm. In all types of weather, your child will want to go play in their playhouse. A huge part of the appeal of having an outdoor playhouse is knowing that their playhouse is still there for them to unwind and have fun. Because of a simple change in weather, you definitely do not want it to be “off limits”. Here are a few ways to get the structure equipped for different weather conditions:
Be sure that your child’s kids playhouse is equipped with electricity!. For a comfortable space to be created, this is a prime factor to consider. This should be set up before your child inhabits the playhouse because at some point, he or she will want and need some type of electricity to get the most out of the space and the activities that they will do in it. To keep the playhouse temperature comfortable, add base boarding heating that can be regulated by an adult.
Consider solar power and lighting also. If you live in an area that gets lots of sun, then, solar panels or a solar power box may work well for your child’s outdoor playhouse. As a reminder, it will not be as effective if the area is shaded. As the weather cools, the solar power could provide solar heating for the interior of the kids playhouse. In warmer weather, you may be able to set up a ceiling fan that is operated through solar power.
Insulate your child’s outdoor playhouse. Make sure that the walls of the playhouse are insulated for comfortable year round playing.
The flooring of the playhouse should be made to be comfortable. Pull out accent or throw rugs for the Fall or Winter months to make the floor feel less cold.
Window coverings can be overlapped with a lighter cover to allow in light and a thicker cover to help keep in heat, when needed.
Keeping an outdoor playhouse perfect for play throughout the year is very important for your child to get the most out of their playhouse ownership experience. No one enjoys remaining outside of their own “house”. So, take these small steps to ensure that your child has full access to all the playtime that they want in their outdoor playhouse!
